key theme: In order to walk with God, we have to respond to how he has revealed himself and how he continues to reveal himself.
1) Asking if God still speaks today implies certain assumptions
A. God exists
B. He has revealed himself
C. He desires for us to understand how he has revealed himself and respond to it
2) God’s universal revelation is constantly shown by his creation that ultimately points back to Him as the Creator.
3) God’s personal revelation is shown in Jesus Christ, or in other words, a full knowledge of God only comes through a desire for relationship with Christ and the things of Christ.
A. Christ’s revelation is primarily revealed in His Divine Word.
B. The Holy Spirit helps us to understand the things/ways of Christ in alignment with his Word: His creation, prophetic voice, dreams, visions, miracles, providence, circumstances, angels + audible voice.
4) Reasons why it seems that God is silent or not speaking to us in this age.
A. We are in a state of rebellion
B. We are not ready to hear from the Lord and obey
C. We are not in a place of relationship with Him
D. We are not in the place of discerning his voice.
