He Has Made Everything Beautiful in Its Time

SERIES |

2011 Theme

SCRIPTURE |

Ecclesiastes 3:11

SPEAKER |

Pastor Joseph Ardayfio

KEY THEME |

God orchestrates the events + circumstances of life with eternity in mind so that throughout time we see glimpses of the beauty of his design.

1)    God has already finished the work of making everything beautiful because we are a part of his divine creation.

a.  Knowing that God is the one who has finished the work should give us peace as he sends us out according to His plans.

b.  The use of the present perfect tense reflects the fact that God has already completed the work, but its effect is now being revealed over time.

2)    The beauty of this life is in the eye of the creator, who has ordered all things according to his purposes.

a.  True beauty is not beauty because everyone else recognizes the beauty.  It is intrinsically placed there by the creator.

b.  Our idea of beautiful can be based upon temporal or eternal standards. God’s idea of beautiful always has eternity in mind.

c.  The paradox that we face is that things are beautiful in God’s sight before the beauty is revealed in its fullness for others (and sometimes ourselves) to recognize.

3)    The process of revealing the fullness of God’s beauty is done in God’s timing

a.  God sets times/seasons to reveal things so that the maturation process can be complete.  Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a seed.  [John 12:24].

b.  Don’t let the temporary turbulence of life derail you from the season of God’s timing.

thoughts for further study

1)     How has God shown you that his beautiful is always better than a temporarily beautiful circumstance/situation?
