At the core of Mars Hill Fellowship Church is a church that cares about people regardless of socio-economic status, educational background, ethnicity or family history. As the holiday season is upon us, we are asking for your help in making a significant difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate. In the midst of the global economic recession there are over 14.8 million unemployed persons. The Brookings Institute estimates that 1 out of 9 American children are living with an unemployed parent. Nationwide, over 320,000 households are in foreclosure.
Our Outreach Team has organized strategic opportunities for you to make a significant impact in our local communities at this critical time.

The Boston Family Shelter is operated by Heading Home, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides emergency shelter, housing and supportive services for more than 1,500 homeless and low-income people each year. Their mission is to end homelessness in the lives of individuals and families in greater Boston by providing housing in conjunction with effective support services to help change the conditions that create homelessness.
This is our second year partnering with a Heading Home facility in the greater Boston area. We are organizing a Christmas Celebration for the residents of the Boston Family Shelter including:
- A catered meal prepared by the Mars Hill Fellowship Hospitality Team
- Games + Activities for the children in the shelter
- Christmas Carols led by members of the Mars Hill Fellowship Worship Team
- Spoken Word by Pastor Joseph Ardayfio
- Gift Bags for the residents including pocket bible, personal prayer from Mars Hill Fellowship Church, and Gift Card to CVS for toiletries.

We are collecting new and gently used adult + children’s coats for individuals living in Boston area shelters who are unable to purchase a winter coat. This year, the coats will go to the residents at various Heading Home Shelters and The Home for Little Wanderers.
