Let’s Talk Notes – Week of December 2, 2012
Message: "Pray for One Another"
Scripture: James 5:13-18
1) What is one of the best gifts (besides Jesus) that you’ve ever received for Christmas? What is one of the best gifts that you have given to someone else.
2) As you reflect back on last weekend’s sermon, what one principle or insight stands out as being particularly helpful, insightful or difficult to grasp? Were you challenged in any area of your personal walk with God?
3) Have you ever prayed for someone else and God answered your request? How did you feel?
4) Do you find it difficult to pray for others? If so, why? (e.g., I feel I’m not qualified to pray for others, their need seems too great, my personal needs take priority in prayer, it is difficult to pray for my enemies, etc.) What do the Scriptures say about the areas that you may be struggling with in praying for others?
5) Pastor Joseph mentioned that a “righteous” person is committed to cultivating a relationship with God that prays for God’s will to be done. How do we pray for someone else according to God’s will?
6) Sometimes, it is easier to prayer for others on a regular basis by praying for specific areas each day. List some specific people that you can pray for in each of these categories.
