let's talk some moreLet’s Talk Notes – Week of February 2, 2014

Message:     Boldness to love others

Scripture:    Luke 10:25-37; 1 John 4:19-21

1)      In his book, “The Five Love Languages, author Gary Chapman describes five primary ways that we receive love from others. These languages include: (1) Words of Affirmation, (2) Quality Time, (3) Receiving Gifts, (4) Acts of Serviceand (5) Physical Touch. Share something that someone else has done for you that spoke your primary love language.

2)      What caught your attention during this week’s message?

3)      This week we saw that it is easy to be blinded to the needs of our neighbors. Have you ever seen this happen firsthand?  What happened? When you read the story of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10, how did the Samaritan man demonstrate boldness in his treatment of the man on the side of the road?

4)      What does it mean to love your neighbor? Do you feel like that you have the capacity to love others in this way?

5)      Pastor Joseph shared 6 reasons that we can be blinded from seeing our neighbors and their needs. Read the six areas from the Sermon Notes. Have you ever been blinded by any of these areas?

6)      Is there anything that you can do differently this week to be bolder in your love towards others?
