Message:     No Fear in Judgment, Our Heavenly Rewards

Scripture:     Hebrews 9:27-28; 2 Corinthians 5:10

1)     What is an achievement/honor that you are proud of? What is an achievement/goal that you would like to receive?

2)     As you reflect back on last weekend’s sermon, what one principle or insight stands out as being particularly helpful, insightful or difficult to grasp? Were you challenged in any area of your personal walk with God?

3)     It is easy to fear God’s judgment, especially when you know that you have fallen short of His standards. Pastor Joseph said that believers do not have to fear God’s judgment because salvation is determined by Christ’s sacrifice for our sins. Do you fear God’s judgment? How does Christ’s sacrifice on the cross give us peace before God?

4)     Revelation 20:11-15 describes the Great White Throne Judgment for unbelievers. Why does the unbeliever stand no chance to be declared righteous in the White Throne judgment?

5)     At the judgment seat of Christ, believers will be rewarded on how faithfully they served God. Based on 2 Corinthians 5:10 and 1 Corinthians 3:12-15, what happens at that time of judgment? What are 3 practical things that you can do to “store up treasures in heaven?” (e.g. soul-winning, evangelism, mercy, kindness, meekness).

6)     Our heart motivations make a difference in determining our heavenly rewards. While we long to hear God say, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant,” God examines both the quality of our work and the motivation of our heart. What should our motivation be for Christian living? Read 2 Corinthians 5:9. What happens when our motivations are wrong? Read Matthew 7:21-23.
