Message:    The Necessity of Being on One Accord?

Scripture:    1 Samuel 3:1-19

1)      What are two things that you would like to do/accomplish this summer? How can your real.life group help you in your endeavors?

2)      As you reflect back on last weekend’s sermon, what one principle or insight stands out as being particularly helpful, insightful or difficult to grasp? Were you challenged in any area of your personal walk with God?

3)      What does it mean to you to be on ‘one accord’ with God? How does this look like in your home, your family, your church, your job, your studies, and your recreation?

4)      1 Samuel chapter 2 and 3 reveal that the Lord rebuked Eli? What was Eli’s sin? Why was it so grave to God?

5)      How often do you evaluate whether your course of action is according to what is in God’s heart and mind? How do you know whether the two line up? What do you do when you know that there is a difference between what you want to do and what God would like done? How do you make the right choice?

6)      Pastor Joseph said that the enemy will attack the unity of the body of Christ in order to keep people doing what is right in their own eyes.

7)      How would you handle the situation that Samuel found himself in after verse 12. What would you do if you ask the Lord to speak and His answer is not something that you want to hear? Has this ever happened to you before? What was the blessing that Samuel received from his obedience? What does the Lord promise to us when we honor him? (See 1 Samuel 2:30)
