Good Friday now raps about his faith in God and the struggles in his life and in the world, he also mixes it with a little fun! Good Friday has been influenced and mentored by National Recording Artist Bobby Bishop of Chosen Records, and local recording artists such as Se7e (pronounced Setch) of Namelezz Records and Lamar of Mandatory Music. Good Friday is an independent artist who released his first album “Speak Truth” back in June of ’08. Spit JonesSpit Jones (born Reudel Christopher) was born on the island of St. Kitts. His mother and he moved to Boston a couple short years after he was born. He was raised in a very Christian household in Dorchester. Spit’s mother, who raised him on "good music" like classical music and singers like Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday and Stevie Wonder. She also posted scriptures around the house to familiarize him and his younger sister, Therez, with the word of God. Spit developed his sense of humor and quick wit in the Boston Public School system. Just about everyday Spit would get picked on for wearing "Bo-Bo’s" and hand-me-downs. Spit had to learn how to take a joke, laugh at himself and shoot jokes right back. School is also where Spit learned about hip-hop, and around 1996-97 he started spittin’. Around that time is when MC’s like DMX, Ma$e, Biggie Smalls, Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes and Canibus started making noise in the hip-hop game. He started carrying a notebook and challenging friends to write-offs in his notebooks. It didn’t really matter where he was, school, the bus, home or church (where he says some of his sickest sixteens were kicked). Around the age of 17, Spit became serious about God after joining a group full of youth that was on fire for Christ called Michael Payne & Redeemed Praise. The experiences he gained from the time he was on the choir will stick with him forever. During his season with the choir, he met other Christians his age that shared his love for God and music. And the whole time, Spit took in everything that he could retain in his mind, heart and soul.

Disciple (D.I.)Born Marc Auguste on October 9th 1982 in Port-A-Prince, Haiti, Disciple (D.I) grew up in church and was raised in a Christian environment. Most of his family members knew Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, but Marc spent most of his life questioning if there really was a God. At the age of three, Marc and his family moved from Haiti and came to the United States of America. Marc spent most of his childhood years going to school and having fun. He was also in church with the rest of his family almost every Sunday. Even though he grew up in church, he never really had a real relationship with Jesus Christ as a child. Marc has been into music for as long as he can remember. It didn't matter what kind of music it was, music fascinated him. He quickly developed a talent for percussion and by the age of 10 he was playing the drums. That same year, he was introduced to and fell in love with rap music. He loved rap music so much that he would buy entire albums and memorize them, from beginning to end. At the age of 14, Marc went to a youth retreat in New Hampshire and accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. Two weeks after his encounter with Christ, he prayed for a unique gift that would allow him to minister to others. The next day Marc wrote his first verse and realized that it was rapping. Disciple (the D.I. part came later). Ever since, Marc has been honing his skills through prayer, practice and plenty of ministry opportunities. |
