Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What denomination are you a part of?

A: Mars Hill Fellowship Church is a non-denominational church.  We are connected to Church Without Walls International (CWWI), Bishop Gideon Thompson, for accountability.  Pastor Joseph has a background in the Assemblies of God and the Church of God in Christ.

Q: Are you affiliated with the Mars Hill Church (Seattle, WA) Pastor Mark Driscoll or Mars Hill Bible Church (Michigan) Pastor Rob Bell?

A: Although we share similar names based upon the Apostle Paul’s account in Acts 17, we are independent from these organizations in terms of governance and affiliation.  They are, of course, our brothers and sisters in Christ.

There has been controversy regarding Pastor Rob Bell's [Mars Hill Bible Church] latest book Love Wins: A Book About Heaven, Hell, and the Fate of Every Person Who Ever Lived.  The Scriptures urge us to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints. [Jude 3]  Mars Hill Fellowship Church's Statement of Faith affirms that "Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence."  We believe that the existence of hell is an essential part of understanding the faith once for all entrusted to the saints.

Q: How can I get a copy of the sermon?
